MEET YOUR TEAM LEADERS FOR THE AUGUST BUILD…
Michelle Pack and Amara Neng are both fun and energetic members of the One Small House organization. They serve in a variety of capacities and put volunteering high on their list of priorities.
Michelle Pack
[/b]Michelle became involved with OSH after joining the organization in Clarksdale, MS in September 2011 and most recently she had participated in the Lambi Project in Haiti during March 2012. Michelle served as the videographer on the Lambi project. Michelle is also looking forward to returning to the dance floor at Sunny Bel Beach when the group takes a break from building.
Outside of OSH, Michelle assists with the bookkeeping for another non-profit. Michelle loves to help her co-workers have a life outside work and organizes one day volunteer outings for her 50 person team in NYC.
Michelle was born and raised in New York. She currently works as a tax manager in NYC.

Amara Neng
Amara loves traveling and volunteering, both locally and abroad. She first got involved with OSH after participating in the Community Health Center Build in December 2010 and since then, she has gone on and helped lead two more builds in Mexico. In addition to OSH builds, Amara has also built in Louisiana and Mississippi post-hurricane Katrina as well as in NY state.
Interesting facts about Amara:
She has spent time living in an HIV/AIDS village, a leper colony, a slum, a landfill, farming villages and has slept next to a buffalo (who thankfully did not trample her in the night!!).
Amara speaks Khmer, some Thai, some Spanish and took 10 years of Latin (which she has yet to find a use for!). She is trying to learn Creole.
Aside from providing shelter for deserving families in need, Amara's passion lies in anti-human trafficking and refugee/asylum work.
She currently volunteers with two other non-profits in Haiti: an orphanage and an organization that provides music education to children.
