TRIP DATES: AUGUST 19-25, 2012
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FEE: $480
This fee covers lodging, food, in-country transportation fees, and health/medical insurance for the duration of your trip.
All volunteers must register and pay the volunteer registration fee by July 20, 2012.
To register, please go to www.fullercenter.org/global-builders/register and complete the Volunteer Registration form. Once you have registered, you will receive an email from the Fuller Center confirming your registration. This email will also contain attachments, which include waivers for Notre Dame (for the facility where we will be staying), One Small House and the Fuller Center. Please complete the waivers and return them to the following address as soon as possible:
MINIMUM FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENT: $400
In order to fund the actual construction costs of the homes, we ask all volunteers to pay or fundraise a minimum of $400. This is separate from the registration fee mentioned above. This payment must be made by July 27, 2012.
Each house will cost approximately $7,500 to build, which includes the materials and the skilled laborers we need. We are all encouraged to contribute or fundraise (see “Fundraising” below) in excess of that amount in order to help this Project succeed. Our partner, the Fuller Center, has been blessed with a matching contribution that, if matched, will provide the funds to finish the Lambi Project! The funds you generously contribute or raise on behalf of the Project will go twice as far towards getting these families into safe and healthy homes!
FUNDRAISING
One Small House has successfully built fifty homes and community structures over the years because of the generosity of its many donors. Our volunteers have been diligent in reaching out to their families and friends to raise most of these donations. A simple email or letter will often suffice. We encourage you to reach out to those close to you for donations. A sample email can be provided to you should you need one. Please note that you are absolutely permitted to fundraise the full cost of your trip ($480 registration fees and $400 fundraising requirement). Should you wish to do so, we simply ask that you inform your donors in advance that some or all of their donations will go towards your trip registration fees.
It is very important to us that our donors stay involved in the process of building the homes even after they have given their donation. Your Team Leaders will send you the link to a webpage with a fundraising meter, donation buttons, and a spot to recognize everyone who makes a donation. Prior to the trip, we will also have photos and maybe a video of the families we are building for on this webpage. In addition, each donor will receive email updates from our team and a special recognition photo or video from the worksite at the conclusion of the trip.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:
The cost of air travel to Haiti is the responsibility of the volunteer. Please do not purchase your air travel without first coordinating with the Travel Coordinator handling transportation for the group. For the August trip, your Travel Coordinator is your Team Leader, Michelle Pack.
Upon arrival in Haiti, a driver from the Residence will meet the group at the airport and drive us to the Residence, a trip of 1&1/2 to 2 hours. Your Travel Coordinator will coordinate flights so that we can minimize/eliminate the need for multiple trips to and from the Residence in Haiti. Within a few days of your registration you will be contacted by your trip’s Travel Coordinator. Your transportation is provided for the daily trips to the worksite and to the airport for the flight home.
The contact information for the travel agency we will be using is below. However, please communicate with your trip’s Travel Coordinator before contacting the travel agent.
